These people are just monstrous, they really are. They despise the fact that impoverished, exploited workers, in the richest country on earth, are trying to rise up against their exploiters and seek some dignity in life. How dare they! Don't they understand that their purpose in life is to work for the benefit of an elite few to get ever richer whilst destroying the planet, not to have basic things like healthcare?
'Liberal' leaders despise the whole notion of democracy. The world must be ruled by a war-profiteering, ecocidal plutocracy, and their corrupted politicians, and that is final.
To defeat that plutocracy, with its media monopoly making it extremely difficult for a stressed, disillusioned populace to be anything other than severely un/disinformed, is proving to be impossible.
