We should be putting a lot of blame on the arrogant ‘centre’ for our current situation. They abandoned the left in the 1980s, jumping on board with neoliberalism, and then following the inevitable chaos created by that neoliberalism, they refused to accept responsibility and come back to the left.
If they had done this - instead of constantly attacking, smearing and undermining the left, as they did in the 1980s, and as they did again these last few years - Labour would have won the general election in 2017, with ease.
But no, Nordic-style social democracy is ‘too extreme’!
It should be quite clear who the real extremists are.
