Australia to acquire long-range missiles as PM warns of dangerous post-Covid-19 world
For a peaceful future, there's probably nothing more important right now than all of us realizing and speaking out about the fact that Russia and China ARE NOT the aggressors in this world. The west is. The tiniest bit of research and thought makes this very obvious.
The current system is out of control and requires perpetual expansion to survive. Anyone who stands in the way must be removed. Countries that want to maintain sovereignty and independence must be attacked and regime-changed.
Doing this to small, weak countries is one thing. Taking on nuclear-armed Russia and China is something that is clearly a danger for the very existence of life on earth.
Resist!

Why do we litter?
It’s not natural human behaviour to treat the planet like this.
We live under an economic system that requires the perpetual destruction of the planet for economic growth. It values personal greed over the common good. It encourages us to be selfish individualists; disconnected from our true selves, from each other, and from nature. Sociopathy is rewarded. Care for each other and the planet is not - in fact, it is the greatest threat to this system.
Obviously it is inevitable that people living in such a system will be disinclined to be socially or environmentally conscious. People will emulate the nature of the system.
If we had a sane system that didn’t require infinite growth on a finite planet, that put people and planet before corporate profit, that valued the collective good over the individual, we’d have a far more economically equal, informed, caring, socially and environmentally conscious populace. (And single use plastic would’ve been banned a long, long time ago!).

Starmer banishing final traces of Corbynism (aka internationalist socialism)
Rebecca Long Bailey has been sacked from Labour's front bench, for sharing an article by actress Maxine Peake, in which Peake claimed that the US cops who killed George Floyd by kneeling on his neck, learnt that brutal technique from Israeli authorities.
We don’t know that US cops learnt that technique from the apartheid regime in Israel (it does definitely happen there), but we do know for certain that US law enforcement officials often go to Israel for training, and that some US police departments are now banning Israeli military influence.
Maxine Peake’s specific allegation was unfounded, but it was based on a truth re collusion in police training between two racist regimes. I don't think it was unreasonable for Long Bailey to have assumed that what Peake stated was factual.
The response from Keir Starmer (and obviously the media), in firing and condemning Long Bailey, is surely as over-reaction. (Where is the condemnation of Labour frontbencher, Rachel Reeves, who likes to openly praise the Nazi-supporting 1930s MP, Nancy Astor?).
Derangement is nothing new, of course. An anti-racist activist and movement have been smeared as antisemitic for 5 years! Enabling the rise of actual racist, Boris Johnson.
The establishment’s weaponisation of the minor problem of antisemitism on the left, to create a new kind of McCarthyism and destroy the internationalist left and Palestinian solidarity, worked a treat. And Sir Keir Starmer is unsurprisingly proving himself a willing servant of that establishment.
Imagine if the same level of vitriol directed at anti-racists for making occasional mistakes in their condemnation of racism, was instead directed at the racist/imperialist western establishments that are destroying the planet, scapegoating and bombing Muslims, etc.
.....
More thoughts:
Is it antisemitic to bring up the fact that Israel and the US have colluded in policing techniques, after an incident of police brutality in the US? I can see why some think so, but I guess it only is if you think the brutal apartheid regime in Israel represents Jewish people? Which is antisemitic in itself, no?
I'm sure some on the far-right are, but most critics of Israel are not motivated by antisemitism. They're motivated by a desire for justice, and given that Israel is an ongoing settler-colonialist project, it's probably to be expected that many will focus on it, even when they probably shouldn't.

Julian Assange is a reminder that the system built by those who're having their statues toppled, still exists
Julian Assange has been persecuted for 10 years and faces extradition to the US, for doing journalism.
THIS is Orwellian.
Toppling some monuments of racist mass-murderers, funnily enough, is not.
And Assange's persecution should be a reminder that the elitist, racist, bloody, imperial system created by those slave-trading colonisers, still exists - he has been persecuted for exposing it.
If you care about freedom and liberty, you should be defending him, not statues of colonialists!
But no, Assange is demonized, whilst we continue to celebrate and commemorate those who uphold and advance that system, from George Bush, to John McCain, to Barack Obama, just as we commemorated the original imperialists. Little has changed.
We need to come to terms with our present, not just our history.

Black Lives Matter - at home and abroad
Colonialism never really ended.
US/NATO regime change wars - either economic, covert, proxy, or overt - continue to kill millions of almost entirely non-white people.
Obama, a proud American supremacist who considers his country ‘the one indispensable nation in world affairs’, played a leading role in doing this to Yemen, before Trump then took the reins, over that war, and all the other wars that Obama oversaw.
Even a black president did nothing to end the imperial, racist system. The US Empire continues to expand on its 1000 military bases around the world. It continues to install puppet regimes that then call in the IMF to ‘restructure’ the economy, privatizing industry, allowing western corporations in to exploit and plunder.
Leading to the situation we have today, with a handful of billionaires having most of the world’s wealth, whilst one billion people go undernourished.
But this truth of Empire is disguised by an incredibly powerful propaganda machine that distracts, omits, skewers the truth, and tells sick lies of 'humanitarian intervention', forever depicting US liberal warmongers as the good guys.
Anti-racism MUST be anti-imperialist.

Is China imperialist?
Is China doing to the world what NATO states do to the world? Overthrowing disobedient governments via economic, covert, and overt warfare, and installing puppet regimes?
No.
That is a lie that western elites/media like to propagate, to make us fear and hate China, so that we support their hybrid war against them, and to make us believe that the rapaciousness of western capitalism is the norm. It is not.

Capitalist tyranny is to blame
Capitalism - especially in its neoliberal form - hands power to unaccountable, ruthless, racist elites and corporations. It takes away our ability to have control over our own lives and societies.
This is what is ultimately responsible for most of the suffering and chaos we see in the world today.
We need democracy, but we're headed in the opposite direction, largely because 'liberal centrists', who created this mess, refuse to understand or accept what is happening. Nothing seems to diminish their love of capitalism.

The extreme ignorance of 'centrist liberal' media pundits
Lol!
Apparently the US had a proud history of opposing fascism before Trump came along.
The opposite is true.
The US has been installing and backing fascist/totalitarian regimes, and waging war against anti-fascist movements, all over the world, for a very, very long time. Killing millions and destroying the earth in the process.
The wilful ignorance of mainstream liberal pundits really is something to behold. Truth inverted. It is a kind of genocide denial.
'The west' is now crumbling and falling to the far-right because this clique of dimwits, who dominate media and politics, refuse to accept the horrific reality of neoliberal capitalism/globalisation. Instead, they blame Russia.
We're reaping what they've sown, but they refuse to see it.
