The EU punishes socialism and rewards fascism

Give rights to healthcare, education and housing to your citizens and the EU/US will sanction you and support a fascistic opposition, (as in Venezuela).
Remove such rights, destroy the Amazon rainforest, imprison popular left-wing politicians, target journalists, (as the openly fascistic Bolsonaro is doing in Brazil), and the EU/US will reward you with trade deals.

Selective Outage in MSM

I check BBC News all the time. I saw the Gilets Jaunes protests as a top news story once. That was it. Funny how much attention the protests in Hong Kong, and now Moscow, are getting in comparison. Especially given that 12 protestors have been killed in France, and 4000 more have been injured. And considering that they’ve been ongoing for some 37 weeks and have been all over the country.
Ditto protests in other countries that are ruled by pro-US/neoliberal regimes. Like Honduras, where the US helped install a virtual dictatorship in 2009. Human rights abuses and protests there get very limited coverage comparatively, and are generally framed in such a way as to make state repression seem more justifiable. It’ll be ‘clashes’ between protestors and authorities, rather than a ‘crackdown’.
Western MSM really is an extremely effective propaganda machine for US Empire!

It's only authoritarian when Russia and China do it

'Authoritarian Regime Tightens Grip on Internet!’.
Or at least, that’s what the headlines would be like if this was Russia, Venezuela, etc.
Not only does the Guardian not condemn such authoritarianism when it’s in the west, they justify it ‘cos terrorism’.
Never mind the terrorism of western imperialism that non-US Empire states like Russia etc have to resist, (though I’m not saying that necessarily justifies their internet surveillance either).

UK Piracy

This should surely be a massive scandal. The UK is a thuggish, rogue state. Always has been. I hope the EU will condemn this? Or will it continue to side against Iran? White European imperialists stick together!
Also, yet another article in which the BBC doesn’t question the legitimacy of the UK seizing an Iranian ship for disobeying EU sanctions, despite said sanctions being illegal and despite Iran not being in the EU! They only question the manner in which the seizing was done.

Labour Antisemitism 'Crisis' - more establishment propaganda

Anti-Semitism in Labour has decreased since Corbyn became leader.

Meanwhile, there’s rampant Islamophobia (and increasing antisemitism) on the right, including in the Tory Party. There’s rising neo-Nazism, in Eastern Europe and elsewhere.

But what is the BBC/MSM doing about all this? They’re going after Labour, which is now led by lifelong anti-racist activists and is more of an anti-racist party than it ever was previously.

It’s deranged. It’s a campaign by racists to smear anti-racists as racist.

For the first time in many decades, the UK has a chance of having a decent human being as PM - someone who wants to take on powerful interests, (including those who own the media), and radically reform the UK’s racist, destructive foreign policy.

That’s all this is about.

Is the EU really a peace project?

Why is the EU currently sanctioning democratic socialist Venezuela, but not Honduras, Brazil, Haiti, Ecuador, etc, where all kinds of human rights abuses are going on? Why is it sanctioning secular Syria, but not the sectarian, fascist, Yemeni-destroying monsters of Saudi Arabia, or banning the EU weapons sales that are enabling that destruction? Why is it not kicking Spain out of the union and sanctioning them for the repression of Catalonians? Why is it backing a fascist coup in Bolivia?

Even if your opinion is that the governments of Venezuela and Syria have done wrong and so should be punished, (by us supreme westerners - wtf), the blatant hypocrisy of it all is undeniable.

(Side note: sanctions do not just harm the governments of target countries. They lead to a lack of medicine, food etc. It’s a kind of collective punishment and is completely against international law - unless backed by the UN).

It is clear that the EU is currently ruled by people who are inclined to go along with US-led imperial efforts, be they against Venezuela, Syria, or wherever. Many are clearly ignorant when it comes to Iran too.‬

‪These people are currently pushing for an EU army. This would be truly dangerous. We should all be wary of the further centralisation of power.‬ Until we have systems that empower and reward knowledge and kindness, rather than ignorance and evil - systems that put people and planet before profit and greed - centralisation in general should be a big worry to us all.

‪Anyone who opposes western imperialism must prioritise preventing an EU army from coming to fruition, and ending the EU’s ability to wage economic warfare (via sanctions) against other countries. To do this, we can either try and disband the EU completely, or we can push for reform.‬

‪But is reform remotely realistic? It will require that socialist/anti-imperialist governments come to power throughout Europe. This seems extremely unlikely any time soon. ‬

This is the main reason why I’d absolutely support a UK Lexit, if it was a realistic option. Instead, the only realistic option right now is a Tory-led Brexit which will see the UK become a total puppet of US imperialism. But saying that... we will have an election in a few years time...
