The System Is Making Us Infertile

Most men in the US and Europe could be infertile by 2060, according to a new study.

The current neoliberal, imperialist, corporate system - whatever you want to call it - is literally ending humanity wherever it takes hold, yet this is barely a news story. (Because 'the news' is just a propaganda machine, for maintaining the status quo; for maintaining and advancing this life-killing system).

The main aspect of that system that is doing this? The industrial food system. It is ruining the health of the planet, with chemicals, GMOs, monocultures, and thus is it is ruining the health of all the planet's inhabitants. The planet is alive, and needs to be cared for and nurtured. But the 'civilized' western culture has increasingly treated it like something there for us to exploit. We've become disconnected from nature, as is required with an economic system that requires its plunder for perpetual profit and growth.

The planet is well on its way to becoming a deforested desert wasteland. The super rich can see it, perhaps mainly subconsciously, so they invest in space travel, so that they/their descendents can flee. Meanwhile, the masses are distracted in consumerism and celebrity culture, and/or just fighting for survival; for scraps, as wealth is distributed upwards to the life-killing corporations and billionaires that now rule.

There is some hope - there are movements amongst the masses offering real solutions, all over the world. From what I understand, the movement for regenerative agriculture is probably the most important. This solution and others are described in this amazing book. But we are of course fighting against a political (and media) system that is useless and almost totally corrupted by the corporations. Until that changes; until we the people are in control of policy, how will we be able to bring about change on a grand scale? How will we transform away from this ecocidal, corporate system of perpetual economic growth on a finite planet? We don't have much time left.

.....

I really recommend listening to this great interview with Zach Bush.

.....

I suppose another way of looking at is... maybe if the western world wipes itself out, then those in other parts of the world, who've managed to avoid and resist the western system, might be able to rise up and heal the planet!
